Wedding musicians at Vrede and Lust
One of my weddings that got postponed due to lockdown regulations. In the end it was worth the wait. Stunning couple. Super humble and filled with joy. Just how I like people.
My brief: “We want a super chilled day. Our wish is just to have a great time and for everyone to enjoy all your awesome performances while they celebrate with us”
Well, I think Paulo and I nailed it. We kept it slightly more laid back than normal and kicked up a storm for their reception.
About the venue…
Ceremony in the garden. Live music of any sort works a treat here. Due to the open space one could go nice and lively here. We did a funked up piano and percussion duet to welcome guests. There is even a small tree that serves as an umbrella.
Cocktail hour was under mature oak trees overlooking a beautifully manicured garden – Yes please! Get some live music with energy here. The space lends itself to that. We did the guitar duo, put the speakers almost 3 meters up in the air and happily strummed away.
The venue is perfect for live bands and DJ’s. The roof is basically a tent that sucks up all the reverb and echo. This is lovely and very rare in Western Cape venues. Make sure to make your DJ or band a centerpiece otherwise they will get lost in a corner. We moved tables around when we got to the venue so that guests can get the best experience from the sound and lighting rig.
This venue is stunning. Surrounded by it’s beautifully landscaped gardens and assortment of open air spaces it’s no wonder they are booked out years in advance.
